It's Christmas Time!

I love Christmas! It took all my self control to not decorate until Thanksgiving! The day after Thanksgiving Scott picked me up from work and we walked around the mall for a little bit. Then we came home and got out all of our Christmas stuff. I put lights out on our balcony and we put up the tree! We also decided to put up some shelves we have had for awhile, but weren't sure where to put. We decided to put them on our kitchen/dining room wall. We love the shelves there and are kicking ourselves for not putting them up earlier! We were just thinking of putting them in our room... but that still has a very long way to go :)We put up some of our Christmas stuff and then went "shopping" at my mom's to get a few more to fill our shelves! She has lots of decorations from her years of working with children and doesn't have room to put them all up, so she let us borrow some! DaNae made the table centerpiece in her floral design class and we love it! We also hung up our plates for Christmas. We are thinking of getting other plates to keep plates up all year! We love decorating for Christmas!

We have been listening to Christmas music for awhile, but we love that we can do it now without any weird looks! We are also watching Christmas music and have been reading A Christmas Carol! We love Christmas!

Thanksgiving

I know I am a little late with this.... working a lot keeps me busy and I don't always feel like updating after a long day... but I still check everyone's blog all the time :)

So on Thanksgiving Scott and I got to sleep in a little bit. When we did get up we picked up a little and then got ready to start making dinner! My mom came over and we started with the Turkey! Scott was a big help lifting the big bird and helping us stuff it, even if he did try to make it dance while we were stuffing it.Here is the turkey all finished and cooling while my mom is making gravy. And our table with the boys sitting ready to start eating. Oh what a yummy dinner! After dinner the girls napped while the boys watched some football. Then we headed down to Matt and Jessica's and got to play some games and have some fun. I was excited to hold Tanner, when I could get him away from my parents.

The rest of Thanksgiving weekend we spent working, decorating for Christmas, and watching the BYU vs UofU game. My parents were watching Matt and Jessica's kids while they were at the game, and that clan came to our house for the game. I had fun holding Tanner some more.... That game was sure a nail biter, but I was so happy when BYU pulled it out in the end! GO COUGARS!

A week of blessings!

Wow I can't believe how fast time is flying! Has it really been a week and a half since I have updated this blog. Well lets see....

On Thursday, Nov 12 we heard that the birth mother for my brother and his wife was going into the hospital in labor. Tanner McKade Nix was born Friday morning, on Jessica's birthday. Matt and Jessica were able to bring Tanner home on Monday night. Scott and I got to see him on Thursday. He is so cute and we are excited that this little guy is a part of our family. He is niece or nephew number 14. We are glad that our little guy will have a cousin close to him in age... it was also interesting to talk with Jessica about bringing a new baby home. We will have an adventure next spring.

Last weekend we also got to take a trip up to Rexburg, Idaho. DaNae is probably going to transfer to BYU-Idaho up there and she wanted to get an idea of the area and the campus. I was excited because my old roommate Noel and her husband live up there. They were wonderful in letting us stay with them and taking us around the little area. It was so cold! We walked around campus a little and drove in town. We also spent time with Matt and Noel watching movies and playing games. We went to Bajio for dinner... so yummy! Here we all are there.... it is just a little dark...
Here are Noel and I before church. Yeah for best friends that always put up with you!
On our drive home we stopped really quick at the Idaho Falls temple. My parents were married in this temple and so were Scott and DaNae's. It was fun to see the temple, even if the parking lot was closed. We decided to check it out from across the river and found this great picture with the falls and the temple! We had a fun and quick trip up to Idaho. We are excited at the idea of taking more trips up there this summer if DaNae goes to school there. On our next trip I want to have time to visit with my family up there and visit my grandmother's grave site.

This week we have been busy with DaNae's birthday week. She has come over a lot of nights and it has been fun to try and have yummy things for dinner. We finished off the week last night on her birthday with a fun little get together. We had Taco Soup, one of her favorites and I even tried my hand at making an ice cream cake, with help from my Mom. I was very happy with how the cake turned out. It was my first time really making and decorating a cake. I am excited to be able to make fun cakes in the future for my family. Here is the top view of the cake. It is an angel food cake hollowed out with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream inside. The icing is cool whip with some cookie crumbs sprinkled on top. Then I picked out some fun candles and Happy Birthday decorations to put on top! We got to sing Happy Birthday! And DaNae blew out the candles. Then we let her start the cutting of the cake. That was a little hard to do since it was frozen, but the cake was a hit! It was fun to have adventures in baking and they will continue this week with Thanksgiving. We aren't sure who all will be at our dinner yet or where it will be, but I do know that I will be making at least a few things. The turkey is sitting in my fridge right now so I may be cooking the turkey if my brother Matt doesn't fry it for us. Either way it will be a wonderful time and I am excited to be able to help with the baking. How fun it will be to have a day off to eat, spend with family, watch football, remember the things we are thankful for, and a way to finally bring in the Christmas season.

It's a......

BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had our ultrasound this morning and are very happy to report that we are going to be having a little boy. Everything seems to be looking good so far. We meet with our doctor on Thursday so we will get more information then.

This is one active little guy. I felt him kicking for the first time on Friday and he's been kicking quite a lot since then. This morning he kept moving around.... at first he was trying to hide and we weren't sure if we were gonna find out. To get all the right shots they had to keep switching which section they were looking at cause he was in a weird position, but he would just move in a little bit. While they were trying to get the right shots of the head as she would press down he would move again. He is one active guy already.... this could be interesting once he come out. So here he is in profile. He just has the cutest little nose! Here is another profile with his arm up by his face. It took awhile to get the first shot because his little hand kept getting in the way. Once we found out it was a boy Scott was texting everyone while we were still getting pictures. Wow... we just love this little guy so much already! The names we are thinking of are Christopher Alan or Adam ____, we are still deciding what middle name would go with Adam.

Weddings Bells

Wow... It has been a crazy week! We had a fun and busy trip to San Diego last weekend for Lanae's wedding. We flew out on Friday and back on Sunday. The bad thing was that I started to get sick on Friday night so it made for an exhausting weekend. Friday we just flew in and had dinner as a family in the condo that we were staying at. It was fun to have some time to spend together. Scott and I got to meet Andrew that night, he seems perfect for Lanae, from the few minutes that we got to spend with him... :) We also got to meet our new nephew Roman that night. He was adopted in the spring and we were excited to finally meet him.

Saturday was the big day. The sealing was special. It reminded me of how grateful I am to be married to Scott forever! The blessings of the temple are amazing!
Here are Scott and DaNae sitting outside the temple waiting for Lanae and Andrew to come out.
The Happy Couple... The Bottomfields
Here is our whole side of the family... Roman, Meija, Amelia, Brian, Kevin, Mom (Renae), Lanae, Andrew, Scott, Me (Becky), and DaNae
After a few pictures at the temple Scott and I took a nap while Andrew and Lanae took pictures on the beach. I was going to go with them, but I was just too tired. It was good to have time to rest before dinner that night. We had a great dinner that night. This was our view from the table. We had a great view. The food was pretty good, Scott loved it, he got to eat my meal too because I just couldn't eat anything but bread, I think the baby likes to show he's (or she's) in charge sometimes. Here is the couple at dinner! We had a great time. We had toasts to give, memories to share, cake and eat, and sparklers to light as they went to the car. It was a great time.

After dinner the family, minus Lanae and Andrew, lite the rest of the sparklers on the beach. I couldn't go to San Diego and not visit the beach! We had a fun time. The next morning was mostly just getting ready to leave. The plane ride was really long and I was so glad when it was over, I just went home and went to bed. I slept that night from 5:30 to 8 the next morning. Luckily I never had a fever, so I just had a cold, but it took me a few days to really get over it. That was the biggest reason this post took so long.

The hard part of going to San Diego where it was so nice was coming home and having it so cold. We have had snow this last week, which made me so mad!

So Halloween was also this week... we didn't do too much. On Saturday after I got off work we had fun watching movies with DaNae. We watched Hocus Pocus, and then DaNae wanted to watch the Santa Claus, so we did. We finished the night off with The Haunted Mansion. Greg and Rachel also came over bringing Olivia in her pumpkin costume which was so cute. We can't wait until next year when we have a little one to dress up and take out!

October Fun Times

So this month has been busy, but nothing too exciting. We have mostly just been working. Scott started a new job yesterday in a different department of the same company. He will make a little more an hour and he is excited for this new challenge. He also started a seasonal job which we hope we will be able to continue with this new job since he will be working different hours. I am waiting to hear from some other seasonal jobs and maybe even from Scott's old job. So yep we mostly just work and hang out. We had another's doctor's appointment and heard the baby's heartbeat again! We also have an ultrasound scheduled for Nov 10!

We got to go to Tucanos for my birthday lunch. They made me dance! Scott, DaNae, my parents, Greg, and Landon and Chloe got to join me for lunch! It was fun. I think Landon ate more than me, and he's only 4....
Here I am at about 16 weeks. Most of the time I wear baggier shirts so you can't really tell that I am pregnant most of the time. DaNae came while I was wearing this and got excited that you could kinda see me bump. We had to take pictures! My clothes are starting to get a little tight...not too bad but bought my first maternity pants today and they are comfortable. We get to go to San Diego this weekend for Lanae's wedding. We are excited for the break and it should be really fun. Updates will have to come.

Corn Maze and Football Game

So I have been waiting to write this post for a week but it has been a bit busy. Last weekend Scott and I got to go on a fun date! We found discount tickets to the Cornbelly Maze and it was awesome. They had way more things than we expected. There were tons of places for the kids to play. We loved the tree of carved pumpkins! There were local Utah ones, classic scary ones, and even Disney charcters, both heros and villians! We went on a tractor train ride through some corn and it was fun, but a little bumpy! Here is Scott and I taking a picture of ourselves. There were also lots of places to stick your head through and take fun pictures..... like a stack of pumpkins. After playing around for awhile we start through the corn maze. We decided to be cool and take the longer path and we got totally lost. There was one part where we wandered around in circles and got a little frustrated. Here we are lost in the corn maze. We got really excited when we finally found the exit, way after we expected to. I think next year we may stick to the kids maze! Scott and I think that we have found a fun new family tradition, especially if we can find discount tickets, cause I'm not sure we would pay full price. :) We can't wait to have a little munchkin to take and play around with! Though to really be ready to play there I guess will take a few years!

The next day on Saturday we got to go to the BYU vs Colorado St. game. It was fun to route for the Cougars. Matt gave us his seats since he had to work for part of the game so his family didn't come. They were great seats and we had tons of fun! The Cougars won and the game was great! This last week has been busy. We have been working. Then on my days off I have been busy doing tax homework, and getting our house in order. This week my parents bought a new car and we bought their old car from them. We are glad to not have to carpool to work anymore. Scott was having to wait for me to get off work an hour and a half after he did. The car is a '95 Toyota Camry. We will try not to use that car very much so that it will last longer. We have been very blessed.

Last night we were able to go to another BYU football game. We had fun sitting with DaNae and our friends Greg and Rachel. We went to dinner after at the training table. Today we were able to watch conference! We started the day with strawberry waffles and bacon! I love that tradition for conference weekend. It started when I was little and we lived in New Jersey. Conference didn't start until noon so we had extra time in the morning and would have a yummy breakfast. Now that is one thing that I look forward to. So we had a yummy breakfast and watched conference. It was amazing to listen to the Apostles and Prophets talk to us for God! The message I really got today was about love! Tonight DaNae and I went to Cararba's to celebrate my birthday! It was SOOOOOOOOOO yummy! That was while Scott was at the Priesthood Session. We walked around a little at the mall and did some window shopping. It has been a great week!
