Spring Fun

The weather is warming up and Adam and I have had fun this week trying to go outside.  On Tuesday we took a trip to the zoo with some family.
Adam sure loves seeing the baby giraffe
We did have to stop for snacks.
I also got Adam registered to start preschool in the fall.  I can't believe my little boy is growing up so fast!  Now we have 6 months to get potty training done.
On Wednesday it was pretty nice but a little windy so Adam and I went with our friends Rachel and Rory and flew kites.  Adam had a blast watching his Cars kite going up high in the sky.
Adam flying his kite!
Once the kids got tired of flying the kites we hit the little playground.  The kids loved the swings.
On Saturday we had a family day at the zoo.  We were trying to convince Adam to stay in his room all night  and so we told him that he could pick the family activity if he stayed in his room.  He managed one night until 5am!  This morning he didn't come into our room until 7!!!!  Hopefully this lasts!  Scott and I just don't sleep as well when he is in our room... and when he sleeps on our bed one of us usually ends up on the couch cause there just isn't enough room.
So we spent some time at the zoo on Saturday cause that was where Adam wanted to go!  It was fun to go as a family.  It was a little cold but nice to get out and be together!

Train

One day when Grandma came over after work and was playing with Adam they decided to make a train.
They took all the chairs out of the kitchen and grabbed some stuffed animals to ride the train.
They also grabbed the sports rugs out of his room to be wheels
 chuga chuga choo choo
Grandma on the engine and Adam on the caboose!

Valentine's Day

We had a bit of a low key Valentine's Day this year.  Scott and I both had dentist appointments in the morning with mouth numbing fun so we weren't up to eating anything fancy.  I decided to make chocolate covered strawberries and Adam sure enjoyed them!
Here is our gift spread.  Adam got Teddy Grahams, and Scott got Reeses hearts and water bottles... we are trying to be healthy and work out more so I thought water bottles would be nice.  We also got a package from Grandma with a book and some yummy candy.
I took nap time to make hearts and write some things I loved about or doing with Scott.
I hung them up around the front of the house and they were a hit.
Scott and I don't like to try to go anywhere nice on Valentine's Day because of the crowds so we just spent time as a family.  We ended up going to Sonic as a family and then hit Walmart.  Scott let me pick out a movie and I got Legally Blond 1 and 2 in a single pack from the $5 movies.  We came home and decided that might not be the best movie for Adam and since we gave him a treat to let him stay up with us we all watched Little Rascals together and saved Legally Blond for the next night after Adam went to sleep.
The next day I gave Adam a chocolate strawberry with his lunch and he ate all the chocolate off of it and tried to give it back to me, telling me he needed a new one.  This kid loves strawberries so I had to laugh that all he wanted was the chocolate, like it was broken once it was out of chocolate

February Fun

We started the month once the snow was off the sidewalks by taking the bike out.  I had enough of sledding and so I just walked around following him.  Sometimes I had to run to find him, he can go pretty fun on that thing.
I put out some Valentine decorations... they didn't last long on the table.
These are some conversion hearts that I bought on clearance like 3 years ago and have just used them each year... so they are a bit old but Adam didn't mind.  I tried to put red gems on top to discourage him, but that didn't work, he would just dig out the candy anyway.  So I finally had to put them on top of the fridge and he kept asking me to bring them down.
He sure tries to be a big helper.  On this day after I finished mopping I just let him spray and continue mopping to his hearts content, he sure thought that was cool.
There was also a day when he expressed interest in wearing his underwear.  We have had some Cars and some Thomas underwear given to us and he wanted to wear it.  I brought out his mattress since it has a plastic cover on it and also put out some garbage bags for extra protection.  It lasted until he had an accident.  I'm not too worried about potty training yet, but it is coming.  I'm registering him for preschool and so he has to be potty trained by September... at least he is finally telling me when he needs a diaper change.  I just can't believe how big he is getting.
My brother offered us his tickets to a BYU basketball game and we enjoyed going.  My mom came with us.
Adam watched the game with Dad for a bit and then he just wanted to play with his cars on the open area behind us.  He even made some friends and they had fun playing with cars.
Adam likes sleeping in my bed.  If Scott puts Adam to bed because I'm out I am most likely going to find this and probably end up sleeping on the couch.  Adam knows that I am the hard one when it comes to bedtime.  He goes to bed for me without much fuss but he knows that if Daddy is putting him to bed he can get him to lay with him till he falls asleep if they are in Adam's room, or that he can fall asleep with a movie in mommy and daddy's room.  Scott just has such a soft spot for this little boy.  He ends up in our room every night.  He is good now, usually, about sleeping on the bean bag next to the bed... we just don't sleep well all on the bed, there just isn't enough room. So sometimes if they are both already on the bed I just sleep on the couch cause it is easier than trying to move the little man and risk waking him up or wanting to get back in the bed.
We still go to toddler gym class each week and Adam loves it.  Sometimes they do big group activities and Adam enjoyed it when they pulled out the big parachute!

Snow with Friends

The next few days all I heard about was Adam wanting to go and play in the snow and go sledding.
Adam had fun sledding
We had some friends join us the next 2 days so these pictures are from Jan 30 and 31.
And making snow angels
Sledding with our friends Rory

The next day the kids went sledding for a bit but then decided to build a snowman.  Adam had been asking all winter to build one so it was nice to have a snow that as good for it.
Our snowman was gone the next day but that is what you get for living in a complex.  I took in all the hats and such after we took the pictures, not expecting anything to last long.

Snow Day

We came back to Disneyland to freezing cold weather.  They said it was actually too cold to snow... just gross.  So Jan 29 it warmed up a bit and we got a big snow storm.  Adam begged enough that he convinced me to talk him out for a walk so we bundled up to play in the snow.
Checking out the snow
Thinking mom is crazy when she made a snow angel
The Playground in the snow
Catching snowflakes
Play time
Now time for Hot Chocolate
He really only wants the marshmellows
Cheers
We came inside for awhile and I mentioned on Facebook that I was interested in taking Adam sledding but didn't want to go to the store to get a sled.  Some neighbors were nice enough to offer us the use of their sled so that afternoon we took Adam sledding for the first time.

There is a little hill on our neighborhood which was just perfect for a little boy's first sledding trip
And Adam never wanted to stop, no matter how cold he got
He tried to pull the sled up sometimes on his own but would usually slip and I would have to help carry the sled up.
Once I finally convinced him to come inside and warm up he decided that to avoid getting into trouble all he had to do was hide in our rug.
He is one silly goose but we are sure glad he is in our family!
