Arizona

So we left Houston on Sunday morning at 5 am and spent another whole day in the car. We arrived at the Peterson home at about 7 pm so this was a shorter drive. For the last two weeks we have been having a ton of fun hanging out with family and relaxing. We have been watching movies and doing puzzles and spending time together. This was a really hard puzzle that took forever since all the pieces seemed to be blue. We did finish it, but are sad cause right now there is a piece missing.... hopefully we will be able to find it.

Coolest Birthday Party Ever!

So Evan turned 3 right before Scott and I arrived so the whole week was kind of a birthday party for him, but the coolest day was on Saturday when he had a party at the firehouse.
The fireman were really nice and let us have the cake and stuff at the party because they don't usually do that.
They don't do partys, they do tours... but we had a TON of fun!

They showed us around the firehouse and let us play in the truck and hear the sirens.
One guy even put on the fire suit even though it was so hot.

We were even able to use the firehose to try to hit a house where the windows moved when you hit them.

After cake we opened presents at home with the family. Evan got some animal crackers and Tammy had some fun with those.

Sea World

On Friday we drove up to SeaWorld and had a blast. We were a little disappointed cause we got confused and thought the park closed later than it did, but we still had a ton of fun. Scott, Dave and I worked hard and fast to get in the coolest rides!

We also enjoyed the coolest shows and got to see the Sea Otters, and Sea Lions and Shamu! Shamu even splashed
us and got us wet!
Here is the splash coming towards us that got us wet!

Dave, Scott and I went on the rapids ride and Tammy found the spot to watch for us. She even spent a quarter to be able to shoot water at us... Evan got us soaked! It is hard to tell but the three of us are on this boat in the seats that are closest and therefore kind of blocking us in the picture.

We were also really excited to be able to see the penquins. This is me all wet from the rapids ride and it is hard to see the penquins since it is so dark!

Scott and I ran off at the end of the day to see the dolphins and the sharks! We had a ton of fun on the trip to SeaWorld!

Baseball Game

On Thursday the Houston Astros had an afternoon game and we decided to go.
Evan had a doctor's appointment so we got to the game a bit late but we still had a ton of fun.

They had dollar hotdogs and we also got ice cream sundaes in a little Astros baseball hat!

The Astros won the game and they even scored a homerun while we where there so the train went... which you can kind of see in the background. It was a really fun game!

Travels

Okay... so I know that I have been a total slacker in updating my blog... but we have been moving around. On Sunday Aug 10 after church Scott and I were talking and we decided that we were ready to leave Virginia. Scott's back had been hurting him and he hadn't been able to work in a while. So we decided that we would pack up and leave Virginia and travel while Scott's back was healing and get to AZ so that he could work while he was here.

So Monday we spent the day packing up the car, cleaning, and saying goodbye. We gave away alot of food but were excited to be moving on. We left at about 5 am on Tuesday and we started driving, and driving and driving. We didn't stop much because we were on a roll! We ended up driving all the way to Houston Texas were we stopped at my brother Dave's house. We got there at about 1 am and we had a blast spending the rest of the week with them.

On Wednesday we mostly hung around the house because we were exhausted from our long drive the day before. I was really really excited to be able to watch the Olympics! Jared was cute the whole trip, but he didn't like us unless his parents were nearby too... I thought it was pretty cute. We were babysitting him one day and as long as we left him alone where he couldn't see us he was just fine. If he caught us checking up on him he would start to cry. I thought it was pretty cute. Here is playing with Scott (Mom and Dad are close by) This is actually the first time that he is really pulling himself up and standing without something to hang on too!

On Wednesday night we went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream and we had tons of fun.

Here is Scott and I with our cones

Here is the Dave Nix family

and here is cute Evan finishing off his cone!

It's August?

Why time goes by fast. I can't believe that it is near the end of the summer. Well I know that my last post said that we were gonna be here until the end of Sept... but we think that may have changed now because the whole office is going to be pretty much gone so we're not sure that we can stay that long anymore. Which means that we may get to AZ earlier than we think. Hey we'll just take each day as it comes and enjoy the road together.

The news this week is that Scott has hurt his back. We're not really sure how, but he isn't able to work as much as he would like to right now. We are spending lots of time resting his back. He was home all day yesterday just laying around and he asked how I do this everyday.... I said the difference is that I know that I am just at home and I have the house to take care of and other things to keep me busy. I am excited to get to AZ and start looking for a job, I hope to be able to find something in the schools, but we'll have to see.

We had a fun date night on Wednesday. We went for a short walk in the park as it was getting dark. It was fun to walk around the lake and just talk. We also went out for ice cream. We went to Carvel... I remember that place from when I was little in New Jersey... I don't think I've been there since I was ten so it was fun!

I found this game to play on a friends blog, so we'll see how it works on here! It was a fun walk down memory lane with old friends!
Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.
