Fun up north!

At the beginning of September Scott spent the end of a week working on a work project up north.  He went with a coworker and were trying to get away from the office so they could just get a lot done without major interruptions.  Adam and I went to the zoo and then hung out with my old mission companion Cindy on our way up to spend the night with him.
On the elephant.
 Loved the playground
 And the carousel
Then we stopped to play at Cindy's house.  They live on an apple orchard and we had fun going for a walk around the place.  Adam's favorite discovery was this little car ride.
We sure had lots of fun together!

Random Fall Fun

We like to meet up with Daddy for lunch or dinner and this is one of our favorite places.  They have yummy sliders and it's just fun.
One day they had a bike inside and Adam just had to sit on it and try it out.
He also decided that this was the best way to get a drink... go figure
At our local community center we are signed up for a Toddle Gym class once a week and Adam loves it.  He talks about it all week long and gets so excited when it's time to go.  I'm just glad to have something to do to get out of the house.  They always have about 6 different activities to choose from and one usually involves some type of blow up house or slide.  Adam loves to jump down these...
yes that is him up in the air
With all the family birthday parties we had this fall Adam got good at swinging at a pinata!
One day we had our friend Blair come over.  I watched her everyday at the beginning of the year while her mom was student teaching.  They were getting ready to move out of their home and so she came over for a few hours to make it easier for her family to pack.  I'm not really sure how I managed to get  both of them to sleep but it sure was cute!
My uncle Brian and Aunt Faye came out to Utah for a bit and were here around conference time.  For the Relief Society Broadcast Aunt Faye joined us for a yummy dinner at PF Changs before going to the broadcast.  The next day Megan Michelle Nix was blessed. and we had a nice family/friends dinner after.  Here we have Great Grandpa, Uncle Brian, Grandpa, and baby Megan all fast asleep!
Adam loves to play with his cousins...  I think we were over at Matt and Jessica's watching their kids while they were at the BYU football game and Adam decided he liked the helmet.  I sure love having a brother with football tickets.  He will often offer us a trade if we watch his kids so Jessica can go to the game she  will watch Adam and let us go to one of the other games.  So we went one VERY COLD night in November and didn't make it through the whole game it was that cold, but it sure was fun.
Keeping the boys entertained so the girls can play upstairs during the Priesthood session of conference.  A movie, popcorn, and drinks... what more could you want.

Labor Day

While Scott and I were in Park City my parents took Adam to the zoo.  They decided to buy a family pass and put my name on the pass as the other adult.  So for my birthday my wonderful parents gave us a pass to the zoo!  We went a lot before it got really cold... so many of the next few posts may include zoo pictures... just saying....
On Labor Day weekend we enjoyed a family trip up there.  It was a bit crowded but we still had fun.  I'm learning I like things better when they aren't so crowded though.
This kid now loves to walk anywhere up high... I think it was from the Olympics and watching the balance beam... or maybe it's just because he is a monkey and likes to climb...
The first few times we went we got to enjoy the playground and the train, but those have since closed down so that they can build a whole new section of the zoo.  Adam sure did love the playground... and the train... those first few times.
We love this big elephant and just think it's fun, wither we are playing on the trunk or underneath.

Rides!

We found out that Adam is a little daredevil... well at least with some things.  He loves to ride rides and it is great when we find a place where he is tall enough to go on them.
He never wanted to get off these airplanes...
until he saw the go carts
but then it was back to the airplanes... with a little friend.... he's only 2, boy am I in trouble.
Plus they had a little bit of bowling... yep this little boy was in heaven!
On a different trip to the same park we checked out some of the other rides.
He always acts like he doesn't care, or that he is scared when he is on the ride, but as soon as he gets off he yells.. "That was fun!"
I was not allowed to go on this one with him.  He got so mad when I tried to sit next to him.  I guess my little boy is growing up!

Dinosaur Museum

During the discount Tuesdays in August I thought it would be fun to take Adam to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point.  We got there one more and the line was about a mile long to just get in, so I abandoned that idea for the day and went to the gardens instead.  At least at the gardens you're outside and there is more room to spread out if it's crowded... But my dad has a membership that gets you in for half price if you go with him so Adam and I crashed the party when my parents took Easton.  Adam still mentions this trip about half the time when we pass the museum so I think it was a hit!
We need 2 pictures here... you know you can't get both kids to look at the same time, that would be impossible.
Playing with the Dinos!
Sand, water, and dinosaurs... what more could a little boy want.
SHARK!!!!
Digging with cousin for bones!
Let's make music!  Adam wanted to do whatever we were doing and didn't like it if we tried to tell him he was too small and needed help.

Park City

In August/September we took 2 separate trips to Park City.  The first one was just Scott and I with our friends Greg and Rachel.  The second trip Adam and I came up at the end of a long week while Scott was there on a business retreat.
Checking out Olympic Park.  It was really neat watching the ski jumpers practice going down the slopes and jumping into the big pools.  We also enjoyed checking out the outlet malls before Greg and Rachel had to leave.
Scott and I then checked out the area on our own for a bit.  We took pictures to send to Adam while we waited for the trolley.
Lots of interesting things along the high streets of Park City.
When we went with Adam I think his favorite thing was riding the bus, or getting to walk up high on the "balance beam" on the way to the bus.
Adam and Scott enjoying the view on the bridge above the street.
