Ramblings

So I know I said I would be better at updating this... I just haven't taken many pictures these last 2 weeks. But I guess two weeks is better than last time. This first picture was taken April 14. Adam likes to be around when I cook. I usually try to put him in his seat with some snacks while I prepare meals to keep him out of the way. He just wants to be held and see exactly what I'm doing... When things are cooking if he's down from his chair, he loves to look in the oven to see whats cooking. I'm glad the oven is cool on the outside...
I have been asked to be the secretary for Relief Society, the women organization in our local church, and I have been busy the last little bit trying to get all the paperwork organized. They created a new local ward for us so we have been very busy trying to get everything organized since nothing has been set up. I was at a presidency meeting last night so Adam got some fun time with his Daddy. Scott sent this picture saying Adam just fell asleep on his lap and stayed there for almost 2 hours, until he got him up to change his diaper and get jammies on. I'm glad Daddy got some cuddle time but I am kinda jealous since Adam will never stay put in my arms long enough to fall asleep. We love our energetic little boy, but he sure does wear us out sometimes.
Adam has been really cute as he is growing up. He has started to imitate us by doing what we do to him back to us. On Monday we were eating some popcorn and I would hand him popcorn that he could eat. He would put it in his mouth until he decided that he needed to feed me. With each bite I took Adam would get the biggest smile on his face. Today we were playing with the rings for a ring toss game. For months I would put rings on the top of his head and he would giggle as they fell off. I would sometimes put them on my head too, but we would just have so much fun with it all. Today he decided that he needed to put the rings on my head and even on his own head. We had a good giggle.
Adam loves to be outside and will run out the door any change we give him. He gets upset when anyone goes outside without him. Grandpa dropped something off the other day and Adam was ok walking out the door with Grandpa and leaving Mommy behind...usually Adam is very concerned about where Mommy is. When I leave him with someone else he just crys. In fact he cries and climbs all over me anytime we go to someone's house, afraid that I will leave him. They all say that he stops quickly after I leave, but it just breaks my heart to hear him so sad. I know its good for him...I can't always be around and he has to get used to others... but I sure love this little guy and hate to see him sad.
In other news we are about to have a missionary in the family. DaNae received her mission call on Monday night. She will spend 18 months in Morristown New Jersey, speaking Spanish! She leaves at the end of July and we are so excited for her, even though we will miss her tons. Adam was a little sad for her to go... or maybe he was just freaked out by all the noise... We know this will be a great experience for DaNae and that she is going where God needs her to be!
Well I guess that is about all for now...Adam wants some attention!

such fun playing around in there

Well I guess that gets us caught up. Our little boy is growing up so fast. He loves to get into everything. The other day he started pulling out our water bottles off the shelves and he got so frustrated when he could see more in there but he just couldn't reach them. He kept trying and managed to get a few more out. He is a determined one. Adam has also started to not only reach up for us when he wants to be picked up but he waves his hands like we do. He loves songs and gets excited when he hears music. We have been having fun singing songs together, he loves it when I do a song like Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes where we stand up and bend down. He made the transition from formula to milk really easily and today we started moving towards a sippy cup rather than a bottle, he didn't have a bottle until it was almost bed time. Another cute story. We went to the mall on Wednesday night, April 6 and ate dinner at Red Robin. After dinner we found the play place at the mall and Adam had lots of fun running and crawling around. We tried to leave once and Adam just wanted to go back and since we weren't busy we let him go back. Later when we actually left he started walking away and I guess he decided he was tired or something cause all of the sudden he laid down on the floor and spread his arms out wide. He stayed there for maybe 10 seconds and then he got up and started walking off... He has a mind of his own and we sure love this little guy!
