Cousins
I got to watch Matt and Jessica's kids while they went to the last Jazz playoff game. We had fun playing around... Chloe was such a big help with Adam and Tanner... Tanner was ready to eat just as Adam was finishing up. At the end of the night we all just crashed... that's what happens when I have to work so early in the morning... I often fall asleep early in the evening on the couch.
All the cousins... Chloe and Landon were playing the Wii, and Adam and Tanner were hanging out on the blanket.
Tanner liked his cousin... he just kept wanting to play with him, I just had to make sure that he didn't crush Adam ;)
I'm so Cute
This is Adam... I just needed to post some pictures of me being me... really cute!
My favorite things right now are to hold my mommy and daddy and to lay on my tummy. I love my swing, it plays pretty music. I tend to push up on my legs a lot and mommy and daddy have their chins in the way much of the time. I love spending time taking care of my Grandma while Mommy and Daddy are working. My cousins with Aunt Jessica and my friend Olivia and her mom Rachel need looking after a lot too. It's a good thing I'm around to take such good care of all them.
Here is my close up.
I look a little weird on this one, but Mommy thinks I look cute... Mothers! My head is not as big as it looks here.
This is my swing that my Goodman cousins gave me for Christmas while I was still my Mommy's tummy. Mommy and Daddy seem to like this swing a lot, it calms me down when I'm upset.
This is me just chillin.

Tiptoe Through the Tulips!
So the weekend after the Rexburg trip I got to spend the day with my parents. We started the day the garage sales... and got a nice rocking chair and a crib! We had a great day with some good finds! Adam was wonderful. That afternoon I went with my parents to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. It was beautiful and a lot of fun. We got some great pictures! The flowers were beautiful and the waterfall was amazing! Adam is such a good boy and we had tons of fun taking a nice walk.We stopped and started taking pictures with the tulips after Adam got some food.
Adam and Mommy!
This Mommy sure loves this little boy.
Grandma and Grandpa are so good to me!
Enjoying the walk. My Dad was great at taking lots of pictures.
So I was having a great time, but I will admit I was a little nervous about dropping him over the edge.
The whole group... A nice lady offered to take a picture of all of us.
Adam and I did find a nice bench to hang out on with a very pretty view.

Trip to Rexburg!
Scott's sister started at BYU Idaho in mid April. She flew into Salt Lake after her semester at DisneyWorld and her Mom came up from AZ to take her up to Rexburg. The plan was for them to hurry up there and then hurry back so that DaNae could play with Adam....
Well I was scheduled to start work the next Monday so on Friday morning Scott and I decided that we wanted to take a little "get away" and go up with them. We called Noel and Matt and asked if we could stay with them that night and by 2pm we were on the road. Adam was so good in the car on the 4 hour drive! We spent the evening hanging with Scott's cousin and eating at Craigo's... a pizza, pasta, and salad buffet... and I loved it. After dinner Scott and I headed over to Noel and Matt's and had a blast hanging out with them. We had fun talking until everyone was almost asleep... especially all the boys.
Matt and Noel were wonderful with Adam and so excited to meet him. They are working on their adoption papers and they are going to make great parents! The next morning we got to hang out a little more with Matt and Noel. It was so great to spend time with such great friends. Glad they were willing to welcome us on such short notice!
That morning DaNae was getting moved into her apartment and getting groceries so Scott and I went to visit my Aunt and Uncle for a few minutes and then we went and helped DaNae get a little more moved in. Once we got that done we left for Idaho Falls and went to the mall cause DaNae needed to do some shopping. Scott and I had fun wandering around the mall while DaNae bought new clothes and shoes to wear at school since they can't wear shorts or flip flops to class. We even got the first Fablehaven book to read together. That was fun to start on the way home. After the mall we drove to Shelly to visit Aunt Rilda and Uncle Ray.
There was lots of competition to hold Adam, especially between DaNae and Mom. DaNae was so excited to play with Adam! We stayed with Rilda and Ray until Sunday afternoon and had a blast with some amazing food! All too soon it was time for us to head home and get back to reality.
I started work the next day. I had wanted to wait another few weeks. I had applied I think on Tuesday, had an interview on Thursday, and was hired that same day, but I had to start Monday. I worked at the same job a few years ago so I didn't really have to interview for it. It is not the best job, but I'm just glad that I can work early in the morning so Scott and I can usually be the ones to take care of Adam and that I can get insurance soon with only working 32 hours a week. This just gives us some steady income while Scott tries to start his own company with some friends.

What a Month!
Well... it's been a busy month...I know that I have been a slacker posting updates... I have a bunch that I am about to do... On our day to day life we have been busy. About three weeks ago I started working. I found a job for about 30 hours a week where I will work early in the morning so that Scott can work in the evenings and one of us can usually be home with Adam. We have enjoyed watching Adam grow and sometimes it is hard to realize that he has grown so much since we see him everyday. Life has been crazy getting used to working motherhood... but I think I am finally getting the hang of it so hopefully I will be able to post more now... I have more to do, but that will have to wait... Adam thinks it is time to eat.

2 Weeks
So I am sitting here feeding Adam, which means I am typing with one hand...but at least I am attempting an update. Adam had his two week check yesterday. He now weighs 7 lbs 12 oz and is 21.5 in long. He has grown a bit the past two weeks! He is still so small, now he is starting to fit into some of his clothes!
The past two weeks have been crazy. I guess I need to update some on the birth. Continueing from the earlier post I had contractions all day Tuesday with them getting worse at night. At about 11 pm we decided to go into the hospital again... I was scared that they would send me home again. There was a different attitude when going in this time. I took a wheel chair up and Scott had to check us in.... I was pretty much in pain the whole time rather than feeling good for a few minutes in between. They observed us for a bit and then as soon as they decided to check us in they got me the epidural. That was wonderful! Throughout the night the epidural guy came in four times to adjust the dose... some of my pain was a little high in the back which was too high for the epidural and then at the end I guess I had pressure instead of pain, which the epidural doesn't help. But even with that pain I was glad to get some relief and be able to sleep in between contractions. That was a long night! After a long while they broke my water and that was where the pain got more intense. I didn't feel them breaking the water, but the contractions hurt after that. I was in a lot of pain, which I guess was pressure... they ask if its pressure or pain... I don't know... I just know it hurts.... a lot! Anyway I was almost in tears when the doctor came in and said lets get this baby out. I wasn't sure I could do it, but the doctor's calming influence helped and I was able to push. I didn't have to push too long... like maybe 30 minutes, so that made up for having such bad contractions. So Adam was born at 9:04 am on Wednesday, March 24, 2010.
After he was born I got to seem him really quick and then they had to do all the tests and stuff. They decided that he should go to the NICU because he was having some difficulty breathing... nothing too bad but they wanted to keep an eye on him. So I got to hold him for a minute and then Scott went with him to the NICU. He ended up staying in the NICU until about 4:30. The first hour on the machines hadn't cleared out his lungs quite enough so they put him back on the machines. They told Scott that he was a firey little one. They had some things attached to his nose and he would reach up and rip them out.... over and over again. They had to have a nurse watch him to prevent this from happening. We went up to see him and were told he was about to be released to come down to us. The next few days he spent most of the time in the room with us. We did send him out a few times to get some sleep but for the most part he was with us and we were holding him.... He is a little bit spoiled.... used to being held!
We came home from the hospital on Friday. My mom was around to help out a little. The nights are kinda crazy... sometimes its hard to get him to sleep in his bed. It doesn't help that we only have one sheet for the bed and it seems like he pees on it almost as soon as we lay him down. I have done a lot of laundry the last two weeks. We had tons of peopling offering to help. The meals and everything were very much appreciated. A newborn is a bit exhausting, but so cute at the same time. There were nights were I would fall asleep on the couch while feeding, or burping him. His favorite position is to fall asleep in a ball on your chest... that is the position that a lot of that sleeping has occurred.
Scott's mom came for a visit last weekend. She arrived on Friday early afternoon and was so excited to meet Adam. We had a blast hanging out and holding or watching Adam. Mom and Scott went out that night and bought Scott a new suit for his birthday. They also picked up PF Changs for dinner that night... so yummy! Saturday we watched conference and hung out. Sunday was Scott's birthday. We had strawberry waffles for breakfast while watching conference! We were awake for most of conference... we recorded it so we can watch it again. We had a roast for dinner, that was Scott's birthday dinner request! We had a good day between Easter and Scott's birthday. Scott's main gift was his suit... lots of people contributed to that. He also got a Sun's soda can holder, a remote key finder, and some candy. The Easter Bunny came... thanks mom.... and brought Adam some new clothes and got our family the movie The Blind Side! Adam also got some fun things this weekend... that is what happens when Grandma comes... he has a little rocking horse and a treasure chest and some blocks to decorate with! Grandpa Kevin said that every little boy needs a Tonka dump truck, so he sent that up for Adam too! It was just so fun to have grandma visit... we can't wait until she comes again in a little over a week to take DaNae up to Idaho, even if it will be a short visit.
So Adam has been in our family for just over two weeks. We love having him around. Scott spends as much time as he can with us, but he's been really busy with school and work and stuff. We love this little guy and the new adventures we are having. Yesterday was Adam's first day out of the house for his doctor's appointment and everything is good! I have only left the house once for the store... and I don't mind it. He keeps me busy. My house is a mess... I will get to that eventually. Life with this little guy is getting easier and more normal.... I mean I finally got to update the blog... I will have to add pictures later since Adam is asleep on me right now.
