Cousins!

Wow... all of a sudden I am ready to blog lots... It feels good to get closer and closer to being caught up. I always say that I am going to stay on top of it from now on... well I doubt it but I hope to better. There is always just so much to do...

Well most of this post is fun activities that Adam did with Ryan and Kyle while they were staying with Grandma for 2 weeks. We spent most days with them and enjoyed lots of time together! But first...June 7
Adam decided that he need to feed himself applesauce. It was a little messy... I think I like the applesauce beard. Adam does like to shave with Daddy...I tried to guide him a bit but that didn't always go over too well.June 9
Playing with cousins at the park. Adam loves to be outside. He throws his shoes at me a few times a day. When Ryan and Kyle would spend the day at our house they had fun playing outside with Adam... they even went with me to my garden.June 12
Just chilling with Daddy.June 13
We went swimming and Adam loved the kiddy pool. He was happy splashing around in there for a few hours and he loved the little slides. June 15
We took the 3 boy bowling and Adam LOVED it. He enjoyed being in a new place with time to explore. He shared a game with me and got very excited when we let him have a turn, once he got the hang of it. He would push the ball off on his own and watch it roll down the lane. Don't you just love that grin! I think Adam got the most strikes and spares out of any of us that day, which isn't really saying much. This little boy just loves sports, he loves balls and is constantly kicking around a ball at our house. We love this little guy and are amazed at how quickly he is growing up.

The Castle Creek Inn

Scott and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary in June and found a wonderful bed and breakfast to celebrate in. I got a new dress and my mom was wonderful enough to take Adam overnight. We went up to the Bountiful temple and had fun getting married again! That is always one of our favorite things to do on our anniversary! We love remembering that we get to be together forever. We went to a yummy dinner at Bennihanas and then ended with the night at the Castle Creek Inn. The grounds were so beautiful! We enjoyed spending time together on the grounds. All of the rooms were castle themed and so fun. Each room also had a fire place and a lighted jetted tub. We enjoyed relaxing and spending time together... and watching the NBA finals! Go Mavericks!

It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years since Scott and I started our lives together. Things haven't gone as we expected but they have been wonderful! The Lord has thrown us lots of twists and turns and we are grateful for where He has taken us. We love our little guy and know that the Lord has sent him to us now for a reason. Sometimes the days can be hard but I love my family and the time that I get to spend with them.

Catching Up - May

So I know that I am way behind and I don't think that I will be able to get everything caught up today...so we will try just for pictures from May. Adam has already been asleep a long time... and I goofed off (well our internet was having problems) for a lot of it. It has been kinda busy the last few months, but mostly I have just felt a little overwhelmed... I have also been reading and watching Harry Potter. We did get to see a preview show of the new movie and it was awesome! I almost don't know what to do with myself now that I have read all the books, I read all 7 in about a month and a half and loved them. Well here are the pictures!May 4
I look over and Adam has knocked over the trash and is trying to play in it...It spends a lot of time on the top of our table May 6
Asleep on Daddy... Adam doesn't usually fall asleep well in anyone arms, he usually needs to be in his bed or car seat so we really enjoy it when he falls asleep on us May 11
Adam is willing to climb on anything
This is a diaper box that he moved to climb onMay 13
Helping Mommy plant her garden. There is a lot behind our church that they are letting people use to plant a garden. I got 2 plots (well I added a third by taking over for a neighbor) and I have planted loads of stuff and I am so excited!Grandma and Grandpa helped too. I was so grateful for their help since I have never planted a garden before and I didn't really know what to do. Adam wanted to be planted too... he stepped into the hole that had muddy water in it He enjoyed getting nice and muddyMay 15
Playing with Daddy The action shots are kinda hard to get with the phone but Adam loved being thrown into the couch May 18
Another shot moving the shoe boxesMay 19 Yep I can climb on top of the table to eat the rest of my lunchMay 21
My parents had a week at Snowbird and they let us take their first night for our family. It was nice to have a little get away and my parents joined us the next morning. Adam loved riding on the luggage racks! He was more than happy to help Grandpa bring up their luggage Adam spent a long time playing with this drawer... he just kept putting stuff in and taking it out of the drawer, mostly his wipes. We were amazed at how long it kept him occupied.May 27
Adam loves brushing his teeth, as long as you let him do it himselfMay 30
Adam loves being outside and he loves pushing things He works hard at it

Wasting Time

I really should be doing something... anything, but it's one of those days that I don't want to do anything at all. I should be cleaning my house. I should be working in the garden. I should be doing laundry. I should be playing with Adam. I should be working on Relief Society stuff. I should be posting pictures of Adam on here and writing about his adventures the last few weeks. Yep I should be, yet here I sit doing nothing, wasting time. Hey Adam is playing happily and my house still stands, that is good enough for today right? Plus my mom is coming over in a little bit to work with me in my garden, I suppose that then I will actually get dressed and meet her there and get something done. Hey I'm not dressed yet at 4 in the afternoon cause I know I just need to get into my dirty garden clothes... that's my excuse at least.
Oh Adam learned to open doors... me no like. We have to keep the front door locked now or he will just walk out of the house. The doors in the hall he hasn't showed as much interest in, but this could soon cause complication to my baby proofed house...
I did get some peas off my balcony garden... so yummy. And there is a strawberry almost ready to be picked. My garden plot still has a VERY long way to go until it is ready o eat, but I have lots of cute little plants, and even more weeds... I just need to figure out the difference between the two... that's what moms are for right.
Well I guess I should go and get dressed now...maybe

Growing Up So Fast

Well time just flies by with this little guy in our lives. He is usually so much fun to have around, but I must say that I love it when he takes long naps or plays in his crib after he wakes up. I know I don't have too much time cause he has been asleep for 3 hours now... but I have gotten some stuff done in that time. I still need to work on the house a bit... that will come. I know it is almost impossible to have a clean house now, Adam likes to dump out his toys soon after I put them away. April 22 I like remotes Mommy! He was putting his fingers under the door until I tried to take a picture... I miss a lot of cue pictures cause as soon as he sees me and the camera he stops the cute things that he is doing.April 23. Adam had about a week when he was just acting tired and clingy. He had a fever for a few days and then got a rash on his tummy. We took him to the doctor and were told he had roseola, just a virus that needed to pass. That is why he is in PJs for a lot of these pictures. After he dumped his toy bin he decided he needed to climb into it.April 24 The Easter Bunny Came Adam wasn't too sure about all this stuff on the floor and couldn't understand why mom and dad where trying to get him to pick them upThat was until he opened an Easter Egg and realized there was candy inside...Then he couldn't get enough of the eggsThe Easter Bunny even brought some toys. Those were fun once the candy was out of sight. For a few days after Easter Adam would bring me an egg for me to open. He would get so upset when I would open it and there wasn't any candy inside. He is better about it now. He loves to play with the eggs and they haven't had candy in them for awhile so he is better now.Adam still loves cups. He can even keep them in his mouth without his hands.April 25
Adam likes to play with our shoe racks, and bring them into the center of the room and then play in them.April 28
We had a meeting at the community center and Adam was getting a little tired of being good in the meeting so he started to wander around with Daddy. He liked watching the guys playing basketball so Scott took him upstairs to keep him out of the way. When upstairs he played around for a bit and then he still just wanted to watch basketball. Scott eventually had to take him back downstairs since he wanted to go through the fence to be closer to the game.May 1
Yummy mashed potatoes! Adam didn't want me to feed him so I let him go at it. He started with his fingers and got the potatoes all over and then he started eating with his spoon.Adam decided to stand on the bag and was waving his arms around. We thought he was trying to call everyone to repentance... he also loves to play peek-a-boo with our curtains. He also loves to pounce me.May 2 This is another picture where I couldn't get a great shot. He pulled this out, flipped it upside down and stood on top of it. He is starting to get down at this point.

Adam is growing up so fast. He is starting to let us know what he wants. Yesterday he brought us an applesauce and got mad when we didn't drop everything to start feeding him. When I went to start and I had to get a spoon he wasn't very happy. Today I was starting to get him some breakfast and pulled out a banana. He got SO excited but wasn't too happy when it took some time to get it on a plate and on the table. While I was making lunch today Adam once again got out an applesauce and this time he stuck his fingers through the lid to get into it. I caught him before he made too much of a mess. I find that sometimes I get frustrated with our little guy... but then I find that I need to stop and remember how lucky we are to have our little guy. It is when I take the time to get down on the floor and play with him that I start to do so much better. I guess that helps me remember what is really important and how lucky I am to be a mommy to such a special little boy!
