A Day on the Beach

With Lanae and DaNae here I get to act like a tourist on my first few days in Virginia and that makes things fun. We had a low key day today. First we slept in so we got a little bit of a late start to the morning. We went into Virginia Beach and put our feet in the Atlantic Ocean!

Then we did some shopping and while looking at postcards decided that we should try to find this lighthouse. It is the Cape Henry Lighthouse in Fort Story so the military had to search our car and check IDs before we were allowed to enter the base and go near the place. This is the old lighthouse that was built in 1791. It was replaced with a new lighthouse so we could go up in the old one!

ROAD TRIP

So things have changed in the last week. I am now in Virginia with Scott to stay for the summer. Scott's sisters came to Utah and drove out to Virginia with me! It was a LONG drive, about 36 hours and we got a little crazy during that time!The first night we stayed in Denver with the Goodmans. It was fun to see my brother in law Eric and his five kids! We had dinner together and got to see everyone preform! This is the group that stayed up a little late talking. Lindsey and Kyle didn't have school the next day so they got to stay up late. Kayla decided that she could handle staying up late and still do well in school the next day. We didn't stay up too late cause we left at 5am the next day. No one woke up to see us off... I wouldn't have seen me off either!

The next day we spent 13 hours in the car and ended up in St. Louis. It was fun to drive around where I spent my teenage years. Here is me with one of my best friends, Cyndi Speidel, and her mom, Lonie, my old young women's leader who was my second mom. I thought about driving by the house I lived in but decided it was better to go to their house instead since it was my second home anyway!

We had to find things to keep us sane in the car. This is a picture that Lanae took of me in the car while I was driving and signing to A Walk To Remember Soundtrack. Lanae and DaNae didn't know how to drive a stick so I drove the whole way. Thank goodness for cruise control!



We got really really really excited when we finally got into Virginia. We had to stop and take a picture at the welcome sign. We still had about four hours to go, but there was an end in sight so we had to celebrate.... So we stoped at Diary Queen and got Ice Cream!

So this is a picture of the Appalachian Mountains. At first we were a little confused, we were wondering where the mountains were and then we realized this was it. They are just a little different than the Rockies in Utah!

We totally got a kick out of this sign. We was at the last rest stop that we reached before we got to Scott. Now we are seeing it everywhere!

Day to Day

So there really isn't anything for us to report right now. Scott is working in Virginia and I am working here in Utah. We spend most of our time at work or talking on the phone. I have been able to do a lot of reading and watching TV. I spent most of the day scrapbooking today. I was working on a set of two pages to share with my family. We decided this year to have each family make a page and color copy it for the other people in the family. That way we have a record of each family each year. I had fun making those pages today. It was fun to think of everything that happened last year, especially our fun trip to Disney World and buying our first home!

So I wanted to put up another picture! Now you can see us better! Don't let the sun fool you in this picture! It was crazy Utah weather with wind and even some snow... at the end of April... I was so mad. I was sad that I couldn't wear the pretty springy dress that I wanted to wear cause I was totally frozen!

GO SUNS!!!!

So Scott is having a blast with his new Suns Jersey. It is even from Nash! Thanks to Brian and Meija! The Suns may not be doing the best in the playoffs but we are still watching and supporting! Go Suns! So I am watching game 5 right now... so we are losing in the series. Hey we are, well were winning this game, now it's tied. I am sitting here in the jersey... I stole it from Scott for at least a little while, when I wear it I almost feel like he's sitting next to me instead of across the country!

Graduation

So I am now officially a graduate! Even if I have been done since December, now I have the pictures to prove it! We had a fun weekend celebrating with family and friends!

Lets Get Started

So I really don't know what I'm doing, but I figured that I would give this a try. I've been feeling like I should for a little while now, so hey what the heck! I'm just having fun here in Utah. So I am now working full time with Independent Study and really enjoying my time there! Other than that I am mostly just hanging out and trying to get our house in order. Scott is almost done with school and he can't wait to finish his last final! As for me I will be walking at graduation in about a week and that will be pretty exciting!
