St. Thomas

Wednesday was our day in St. Thomas. I walked with Dave and Tammy and Mom and Dad to the shops when we got off the ship. We walked around for a bit and then Mom and Dad had to leave for their excursions. We found a shop that sold all Pirate stuff and Tammy and I got a picture with the pirate there! After a little more shopping Dave and Tammy left with their friend Kristin and her husband to snorkeling in St. Johns. I got to talk to Scott on the phone a bit since we were in a US territory and do a little bit more shopping. I got myself some color changing nail polish and Scott a T-Shirt. I also picked out some gifts for the Goodman kids for mom. There was a little market place where there was some nice stuff for cheap and it was really fun to do some shopping.

I enjoyed the walk back to the ship. It was fun to have some time to myself. I really enjoyed being on the ship because it was so empty! I had lunch and then found a place to lay out with a book. I slept a little bit too. It drizzled on me a few times, but it was just such a beautiful day. I would start to get to hot and then the breeze would pick up or a little rain would fall... It was perfect!

The ship soon began to get crowded again and I figured that I should go and see who I could find around. When I found mom and showed here the necklace that I got for Emily we decided to get back off the ship for a bit and see if we could find another one like it. The shop that I got it at was too far away and was probably closed by then so we didn't go back there but we did have fun checking out the other shops right by the boat that we hadn't gone into before. We ran into Dan and Betsy and Matt and Jessica who were shopping before they had to get back on the boat. We had fun hanging out before it was time to reboard the boat and get ready for dinner.

Mom and I decided to dress up a little bit that night and we both looked cute! :) We then went to the top deck to watch as we pulled away from St. Thomas. We could see the lights from the town and then there were little blue lights from the docks and it was just so pretty. We found Grandpa and Grandma up there and had time to take a few pictures before dinner.

At dinner that night we had a fun time hanging out. That was the night that our waiters sang to Mom and Dad. We asked them to bring out her desert with the candle that we brought for Mom's sixtieth birthday. It was so fun to watch them lighting the candle behind mom's back and know that she didn't know what was about to happen to her! When the waiters asked what we were celebrating we said it was both a birthday and an anniversary since they are on the same day so dad got sung to too! We had the best waiter... Istvan from Romania. Dave really enjoyed that because he served his mission in Romania and he got to try and talk to him in Romania. We even got to see pictures of Istvan's wife and daughter! We looked forward to going to dinner and getting to see him every night!

Day at Sea

So Tuesday was spent on the boat and we had fun lounging around. We started the morning with a shopping talk from the ship. I only went because he was handing out free stuff. The talk was pretty boring... it was almost all about diamonds... Anyway. We had a color changing bag from Del Sol thrown in our direction, but it hit the lady in front of us in the face instead and then bounced to the side and someone else got it... That made us sad. But later the guy was giving out a cigar and Dan decided to scream and shout to be funny... and well the cigar was thrown right to him. We always get what we won't use... but it keeps us laughing!

The girls tried to go to a scrapebooking party on the boat and it was really lame. A guy shows up, yes a guy... with markers and stuff and says that you were supposed to but a kit and then they let you use their tools to put things together. The kits weren't even good...

I did get the chance to lay out on the boat and read a book, which I thought was really nice. Mon and Dad and Grandpa and Grandma joined me, Dave, and Tammy on the top deck. We thought all of the older people were cute to be laying out on the deck fulling dressed and most with closed toed shoes... Well at least they weren't in the sun.

The ship did have a map showing where we were and where we were going and we had fun looking at that map. It just got a little sad on the last day knowing that we were so close to Miami again... but I was getting really excited to see Scott by that time.

Tuesday Night was the first formal night on the ship and we had fun dressing up and going to dinner.

Half Moon Cay

So now I'm getting to the commentary on the cruise so you can skip all of this if you would like. It really is kinda my journal of the trip so read ahead if you would like.
This was probably my favorite day on the cruise. We went to a private island and it was what I pictured the Caribbean being like, totally gorgeous. The cruise ship couldn't get really close to the island so we had to take a little boat from the ship to the island and there was a bit of a back up for that.

It took us a little while to get onto the island but when we did it just took my breath away. The sand was so white and soft and the water was so clear. It was nice to get right off the ship and have the beach so close. It was fairly crowded but we just walked a little further down and found a place in the shade on the beach! I spent the morning with Matt, Jessica, Dan, and Betsy. The rest of our group was on excursions. Here are pictures with the cruise ship in the background. Matt, Me, and Dan and then Jessica, Me, and Betsy.

There was a BBQ lunch provided on the island. Nothing to fancy but there was lots of yummy fruit! Dave and Tammy joined us after lunch and we all had fun in the water until it was time to head back to the boat. We tried to wait as long as possible before we had to get back on the ship so there was a bit of a line to leave the island. Here are Dave and Tammy under the sign as we were leaving the island. I thought it was cool that pirates used this island.

There was nothing too exciting to report on that night. At least I didn't take any pictures and I don't really remember. I do remember that Tammy and I went and got french fries and ice cream before we got changed for dinner and took a nap. After a yummy dinner we went to a show and then we probably hung out for a bit! So that was Monday!

CRUISE!!!!

Okay so I am now back from the Nix family fun Caribbean adventure! We had so much fun, we were just sad that Scott wasn't able to come to! The people that did come were my parents and my gramdparents as well as my three brothers and their wives... Dan and Betsy, Dave and Tammy, and Matt and Jessica. So I flew into Maimi on Saturday at like Midnight. Matt came and picked me and Dan and Betsy up from the airport with Mom and Grandpa tagging along. Here is the view of the cruise ship from our hotel room!We found a church to go to in Miami and then and we got into the cruise ship on Sunday at about 2. We were excited to say goodbye to Miami and go explore the ship! We all met up on the top deck to watch as we pulled away from the port!We had lunch on the cruise ship and then dinner... we ate a lot during the week! Every night after dinner we went to a show and then usually hung out for a little bit. So that was the first day!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

So Scott and I have now been married to two years! We were able to spend time together on Sunday and then again on Monday. On Monday morning we got ready and headed down to the beach. It was Scott's first trip to the beach since he has been down here. He was excited to go into Virginia Beach and see the statue of Neptune. We also found a nice lady to take a picture of us together! We then went to Panera Bread for lunch before Scott had to go into work. Scott stopped working about an hour early so that we could go to Outback to dinner and then see the Indiana Jones money. It was great to have a date night! The movie was entertaining and fun. Scott was saying he is not sure that it fits with the other Indiana Jones movies but I think it does. Maybe thats because the first time that I can remember actually watching the movies was about 2 weeks ago and to me the difference with this one was that the special effects are more modern, they are all pretty far-fetched but very entertaining!

So now that the girls have left I have to find things to do to occupy me during the day. I have been trying to get things in order. This house needs some work after having two guys living in it for so long. Plus I am going on a family cruise next week while Scott stays here. I will miss him so much. I am not working too fast because I know that if I get everything done than I will just have to find new things to do... :) So my blog has been pretty exciting the last week or so, but it will slow down a bit now... well until the cruise, and then it will slow down again. Hey if anyone wants to come for a visit this summer just let me know. We would love to have you!
