Samuel the Lamanite Family Home Evening

Every Monday night we try to spend time learning about God and doing activities together.  One Monday I was searching on Pinterest and found this idea from a few places and kinda created my own.  So the story of Samuel the Lamanite is that he tries to teach about Jesus in the city but gets kicked out, so he goes up onto the city wall.  Some of the people try to hit him with arrows so that he will stop preaching.  But God protects him and he delivers his message about Jesus and then leaves the city and returns to his own home.  So as a family we found a video on line to tell the story and then we put our little "Samuel" on the city wall(rice krispie treats).
Then we took mini marshmallows and threw them at Samuel!
It was fun to act out Samuel and have yummy food to eat too.  We even took big marshmallows and pretended to be Samuel ourselves and threw marshmallows at each other.  It was a fun night being together and learning a scripture story...although I'm not sure if Adam could really identify the story or just the game and mostly the food if I were to ask him about it again.

Thanksgiving Point

We decided to get a membership to Thanksgiving Point around the Tulip Festival.  We have used it a ton and we love going.  My parents and some of our neighbors have passes too so it has been nice to be able to go and hang out with friends.  There was a traveling exhibit on sound at the dinosaur museum and Adam loved it... I think it may have been his favorite place....well except for the sand pits at the end.
Playing the drums
Hanging with the Dino's
With the tulips
Hugs with Grandma!

Playing in the water
So I took our neighbor Brian to the Dino Mesuem one day with Adam so he mom could get some rest...I think his little brother was sick or something so sleep wasn't going well for mom...anyway, I had them stand in front of the shark to take a picture and as I was snapping the picture this happened...Brian fell over backwards...  I ran up to him, I'm surprised the picture isn't more blurry, and did some comforting and the. We were ready for another picture
But getting too kids to look at the same time in the same place, forget it.  Then we went to play in the sand and these two boys had a blast.... They played in the sand forever!  It was nice to be able to keep on eye on the, but to have them occupied.
He loves the pony ride at the farm
And he likes the water and sand with the Dino's at the Mesuem...the funny thing is this isn't his favorite.  Every time we go he wants to run through the Mesuem until he gets here and then he will play for a few minutes before he just wants to run through the rest to get to the sand...surprisingly I don't have a picture here of him in the sand but I will have to find one...or take one.  He just loves it

Sleepy Head

So this post isn't really in order.  Looking through my pictures from April to July I found these pictures of him sleeping in weird positions.  During this time we have been working on potty training, which has gone pretty well (most of the time, but can still be a battle) and making the transition from nap to no nap.  Unless we are out and about we still have a quiet time most days, but he probably falls asleep a little under half the time.  I'm torn between wanting him to nap or not, cause if he does nap he stays up a lot later, but if he doesn't have a nap he is ready for bed about 7.  And without a nap about 5 gets really rough...and sometimes I find him asleep in weird places...like on tables and chairs... Or just half hanging off stuff...

Okay so maybe he isn't asleep here but he probably would love to nap here if I let him.  He loves to hide in my clean laundry that is waiting to be folded...that big pile at the end is created by him climbing in and then pulling as many clothes on top of him as he can.

Easter Egg Hunts

Adam went on lots of Easter Egg hunts this year.  He had one at the rec center where he took a gym class once a week and one at church .  Then when we got to Zermatt there was an egg hunt on Saturday and Sunday.  Waiting for the hunt to begin.  They divided it by age and it was nice that Adam was in the younger group, he had a lot of fun.
We spent the weekend just relaxing.  We had our own kitchen so we just picked up easy meals that we could cook without any work and it was a wonderful break.
I did decide that I liked the idea of a little family hunt where the eggs were a little, but not much, more hidden.  So I hid the eggs and then Adam and Scott joined me outside and we helped Adam find the eggs.

Even in the trees
So that bruise on his head....well we went for a walk and he tried to run down the hill...he didn't really make it.

So on Easter Weekend Scott's mom fell and shattered her ankle.  Four months later she is just starting to be able to put a little weight on it.  Adam and I decided to send her down a little care package.
It was pretty fun to put together...I know there was a puzzle in there too so I must not have gotten a picture of everything.  I guess I just like to take pictures of things when I actually get creative.

More train

I thought I had more pictures from the train ride..... So here they are...

The Easter Train

We spent Easter Weekend at Zermatt resort in Midway by Hebert and had so much fun.  We started the weekend with the train...don't let this picture fool you... Adam LOVED it...there must have been a loud noise because this kid sure not like loud noises.
My boys and the train!  Adam loved the front of this train...he just wanted to climb on it.

That is one handsome boy in heaven with trains around

And he got to meet the Easter Bunny!

They also had a tiny petting zoo before the train left.  He wasn't too excited about the animals but we convinced him to pet them a little at least.  We sat facing each other as a family on the train and had fun looking out the window at the passing countryside.  Adam loved the train.  The Easter Bunny even came into our car and got us all to do the bunny hop!
