BYU Basketball!

My brother had extra tickets to the BYU basketball game last week against Peperdine and he invited us to join him. Adam did pretty good at the game, but did get really scared at the beginning when they turned off the lights and the place got really noisy. He calmed down after a walk around the Marriott Center and then enjoyed the game...
Well we had lots of snacks and toys. He would get excited and clap and jump up and down when everyone clapped. We did have to take turns walking around with him but it was still a fun family time at the game.
We left a little early cause BYU was dominating and Matt had a wedding reception to go to, and Adam was very wiggly.

Well that is us caught up on the blog with the pictures. We are doing good and just chugging along. I babysit most days with the cutest little girl and Adam is pretty good, most of the time. I am so glad that I get to be home with him, for the ups and downs. He sure keeps me busy. I read an article the other day that pretty much summed it up... he drives me crazy most of the time and being a mom is hard, but everyday there are those moments that just make everything worth it, where he just smiles at me and melts my heart. I love my little boy and am so grateful to be a mom to this wonderful little boy.

Around the house

Here are some fun pictures from the last little bit. Adam loves to wear our shoes. My favorite is when he wears my heals. He will say bye bye and walk down the hall. He is pretty good at walking in them. One day he found his tie and decided that he needed to wear it over his regular clothes... he wore it pretty much all day and had so much fun with it. He got these blocks for Christmas and he loves playing with them. He worked so hard to build a tower all by himself.I know there are tons of cooking pictures with Adam. If there is a bowl on the counter I am not allowed to stir it, he has to do it. He also likes to wear my apron... even if it is way too big for him that I have to retie it every few minutes.I got into a muffin kick and Adam loved helping me make muffins fairly often. His favorite part is the brown sugar and all he wants to do is eat the brown sugar and chocolate chips... for breakfast until I get them out of site after a bit of a tantrum. Once I get the muffins made he eats them like crazy! One day I had them on the counter cooling and when I looked over he had eaten a piece of the top out of just about every muffin. That's my boy, he knows the good stuff. So Adam loves his ABC's... about a week ago these were the letters that he could name all by himself. His favorite book in Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, he loves Super Why, and ABC's is one of his favorite songs... so he knows most of his letters before he knows his animals or colors, but he is learning them all so fast... I think he knows just about all of his letters now.

I wear no pants!

Adam has decided lately that he doesn't really like wearing pants... If you read the last post you know that he would only sit on the potty if he was wearing pants... but that is just about the only time he wants to wear pants. I think part of the reason is that some of his pants are a little big... mostly cause he is so skinny that to get them long enough they are a little big in the waist... and I am putting him in 2T rather than 18 months since that is what I have... he is almost 2... he is just a little small.
So sometimes the pants come off while he is playing.Other times he takes them off, even if they are a pair that fit perfectly. Pants just get in the way of dancing while you watch TV. Getting him to put his pants back on is a bit difficult, and even if you succeed they often don't stay on for long. This doesn't happen everyday... just most days. This will be a good blackmail picture someday.
Wave Bye-Bye in mommy's heals without any pants!

Going Potty

For Christmas Adam got a potty. Right now we mostly use it a stool to help brush teeth, wash hands, and do laundry. All things that Adam wants to do by himself... he has to help put the laundry in both the washer and dryer. Well one day we could tell that Adam was getting ready to go and we asked him if wanted to use his potty. He said yes, but threw the biggest fit when I tried to take off his pants.
Well once that was all done and he was calm again he was ready to sit on his potty, just with his pants on.
He even brought it into the kitchen to keep sitting on it.
We still have lots of time before potty training but it is nice to be able to get him a little more used to the idea.

Boys!

Now I have that it has been a mild winter... we haven't gotten a real snow fall yet this year, but I still think it's been pretty cold.
Adam and I did venture outside one day, and Adam just wanted to stop and watch the creek... it was hard to get him to leave. Well it is always hard to get him to move onto something else when we are outside. We did move onto the playground and Adam had so much fun. I have a feeling that we will be spending A LOT of time outside once the weather gets nice.Adam sometimes gets a little jealous of the girl that I watch but most of the time he trys to be a big helper. Here he is trying to share his milk with his Mickey Mouse Pez Dispenser. Is there a better way to relax and watch TV?

Christmas in AZ

We spent a very fun week in Arizona for Christmas and loved spending time with family. Adam did pretty good on the drive down...Grandpa Nix let us borrow his DVD player and Cars, Finding Nemo and 101 Dalmatians kept Adam mostly busy, but by the end of the day we were very done!
He didn't sleep that much and we really enjoyed the times that he did sleep.
We enjoyed being able to spend time outside in nicer weather. Scott and DaNae taught Adam to climb up this all by himself... I was a bit nervous...
especially when we went later in the week just me and him and there wasn't as much help with spotting. We do have a very adventurous boy... good thing he is pretty coordinated too.Adam has decided that he likes wearing our shoes...Grandma and Grandpa had a beautiful white Christmas Tree and they really spoiled us all.Adam loved his gifts... lots of cars and truck stuff plus more. Here he is sitting in his new car with his milk and orange juice watching a movie. I don't have many Christmas morning pictures here cause Scott took the pictures on his phone since it has a flash so maybe I will have to add more later. We had lots of fun with all the family. While the boys went to a Phoenix Suns game we went to a play center. At first we had a few troubles finding stuff the right age for Adam... He like sitting in the cars, but he didn't want to ride any of the rides... he was too scared. Then we found the slides. Adam loved going up and down the slides and even made some friends, there was another cute little boy that would slide down with him sometimes... He also liked the jump house, as long as there weren't many other kids in it.After a fun filled week our little boy was exhausted on the way home, he slept a little more on the way home, and got worn out at a Burger King play place. We were even more ready for this trip to be over cause Adam only wanted to watch Cars... over and over again. While not a part of this trip I thought I would throw in another picture from the car. Adam found the chips in the car and decided he wanted them!

In the Kitchen

So I know I've been a slacker at blogging lately... things have been busy as I have gotten used to babysitting full time... and then when I have thought about it I didn't have the cord to connect the computer to the phone to get the pictures... So now is the time to play catch up so there should be many posts in the next few days so I hope you enjoy!
Sometimes a regular bib just isn't big enough!
Adam always insists on feeding himself... and he loves yogurt so that would often be all over him.... so I just took a dish towel and fastened it around him... it caught a lot more mess! He is actually getting really good at eating yogurt without making too big of a mess... if he spills now he wants me to wipe it up right away!
He still loves to help me cook and I can't make anything without his help...sometimes life would be easier without it... and more food might end up on the table.
One day I here him giggling in the bathroom and look in and this is what I find. He sure is proud of himself.
