More Site Seeing!

So the rest of the day on Friday after Jamestown was spent at Yorktown and then the beach. We went back to Yorktown on Saturday morning too and got to see a cannon and a musket get fired. We had fun in the museum and then the camp site and the farm. We saw a presentation on medicine that made us really really glad for the modern discoveries especially pain medication.

This was in the General's Tent which was by far the largest. I was trying to be serious, it didn't work too well.

The scary thing was to see the regular soldier's tents. This little tent was supposed to fit 6 people... were not really sure how they fit.

When we moved onto the farm Lanae got really excited to work on her crops. We found out after that she was working on tobacco... we all know how much Lanae loves her tobacco:)

So that is Yorktown... where Cornwallis surrendered. The revolutionary war still went on for a few more years, but this was the beginning of the end! or I guess it was more the beginning of our Independence and life as we know it!

We headed to the beach on Friday night to take some pictures. The girls got picture frames from Virginia Beach and they needed to find some cute pictures to go into them. Lanae was crazy and running around everywhere. Jake, the guy that has been rooming with Scott the last month came with us cause he was home because he lost his voice so he was able to get some pictures of the three of us. The girls even decided to try and throw me into the ocean for Scott. I got a little wet but it wasn't too bad. When we got home Scott said thanks because he knew it was something that he wasn't allowed to do. I just really don't like water in my face so I REALLY HATE being thrown into water... it kinda scares me. Anyway... it was a fun night.

On Saturday we went to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's home and plantation. It was a long drive but it was pretty cool to see the house. There was a big thunderstorm that we missed while we were getting our tour of the house. When we were driving back we caught up to the storm, or maybe hit another one and it was kinda scary. I could barely see where I was going but we made it okay. It was nice to get back home and see Scott that night. Scott was sad to not be able to spend too much time with his sisters, but we had fun all together when we could.
